Tech Director
Administrative / Full-Time

Position Summary
The Tech Director provides strategic leadership and creative oversight for all production and technical environments at Stonebridge. This includes live worship services, livestream and broadcast environments, conferences, ministry events, and campus-wide technical systems. This role ensures that every production setting reflects spiritual excellence, creativity, and quality, creating distraction-free environments where people can worship God through praise, teaching, and community.
Key Roles
#1: Strategic Leadership & Vision
The production ministry must serve the mission of the church. This role encompasses:
Serving as the primary visionary and strategist for Stonebridge’s production and technical environments.
Translating Stonebridge’s mission and ministry priorities into executable production plans.
Partnering closely with the Senior Pastor, Worship Pastor, and ministry leaders to ensure alignment.
Developing annual department goals, operating plans, and measurable objectives.
Creating scalable systems to support future growth, additional venues, and campus expansion.
Leading long-term technology planning and capital improvement strategies.
#2: Service & Event Production Excellence
Excellence in worship production helps remove distractions and support ministry impact. This role encompasses:
Overseeing all technical aspects of worship services and events, including audio, lighting, video, stage design, and broadcast.
Ensuring consistency and quality across in-room and online experiences.
Leading planning and execution for major church events, conferences, and special services.
Overseeing livestream production and digital content capture.
Ensuring excellence in technical system integration and equipment maintenance.
Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues with calm, proactive leadership.
#3: Team Leadership & Volunteer Development
Healthy production environments are built on strong teams. This role encompasses:
Leading and developing staff and volunteer production teams.
Recruiting, onboarding, and training volunteers across audio, lighting, video, stage management, presentation, and broadcast.
Creating clear systems for scheduling, communication, and role development.
Providing regular coaching, feedback, and performance evaluation.
Cultivating a culture of spiritual maturity, professionalism, humility, and servant leadership.
Identifying and developing future production leaders within the church.
#4: Creative Collaboration & Experience Design
Clear communication strengthens trust and discipleship partnership with families. This role encompasses:
Ensuring consistent communication with parents, volunteers, and staff.
Overseeing weekly leader updates and monthly parent communication.
Maintaining accurate Planning Center events, rosters, and team calendars.
Ensuring structured follow-up processes for new families and guests.
Partner with the Children’s Minister to provide tools and resources that equip families to reinforce biblical discipleship at home.
#5: Systems, Administration & Stewardship
Strong systems ensure sustainability and wise stewardship. This role encompasses:
Managing production department budgets, expense tracking, and capital planning.
Overseeing vendor relationships, service contracts, and procurement processes.
Maintaining accurate inventory of all technical assets and equipment life cycles.
Ensuring equipment maintenance, documentation, and system reliability.
Managing department scheduling, workflows, and project timelines.
Ensuring compliance with safety standards, copyright regulations, and best practices.
Providing oversight of campus IT infrastructure and media systems as assigned.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Production, Communications, Media Arts, or related field preferred.
Minimum 5–7 years of experience leading production or technical teams in a church, broadcast, or live event environment.
Experience managing large-scale production operations preferred.
Strong technical proficiency in live audio, lighting systems, video production, and streaming technologies.
Demonstrated experience in team leadership and project execution.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry production equipment (up to 40 lbs.).
Ability to stand, kneel, climb ladders, or move throughout production environments for extended periods.
Ability to work in live-event settings requiring focus and mobility.
Work Environment
Combination of office, rehearsal, and live production settings.
Requires weekend service leadership and evening event availability.
Fast-paced ministry environment with seasonal production demands.
Collaborative work with pastoral staff, creative teams, volunteers, and external vendors.
