"What Is Man?" - Psalm 8 - Jonny Ardavanis
What does it mean to be human, and what gives our lives meaning, value, and purpose? Psalm 8 answers those questions by first turning our attention away from ourselves and toward the God who made us. We cannot truly understand who we are until we understand who He is.
Though we are small against the vastness of creation, we are not insignificant. The God who created and rules the heavens is mindful of us. He made us in His image, crowned humanity with glory and honor, and gave us a purpose within His creation.
Ultimately, Psalm 8 points us beyond ourselves to Jesus—the majestic God who took on humanity, came to save sinners, died, and rose again. In Him, we find the answer not only to “What is man?” but also to why we are here and where our hope is found.
